Heerlen When I visited Heerlen the station was being rebuilt. Looks like a massive project and quite a big complex. Being an old mining town I had intended to visit the last remaining mining buildings that houses the Dutch Mine Museum, but I got sidetracked by the architecture in Heerlen and ended up on a different sort of a day out. Loved the  Glaspaleis  building and the view of the medieval church from the library creates a beautiful contrast. You can read all about this beautiful building and its history in the library within.
