Right off the train station, the Cube Design Museum is a delight to visit and so far one of my favourites in Limburg - full of inspiration. In the same complex, a stone's throw from the station you can find the Discovery Centre . A short walk away the center is full of plaques and monuments to showcase the more recent history (mining history) as well as WWII (walking tour map here). But if these types of things are not for you - the area has gardens, parks, old castles, and a zoo so plenty to keep you busy on a sunny or rainy day.
